SCORM courses built and tested for WCAG 2.2 AA
Audits, remediation and new builds for training that has to pass an accessibility review: public sector, regulated employers, anyone whose procurement team now asks for a conformance report. You get the course, the evidence, and the paperwork.
Audit from £450 · Tested with keyboard and screen readers · Conformance report included
Someone has asked you for "WCAG 2.2 AA" in writing
UK public sector websites and apps have been covered by accessibility regulations since 2018, and the regulations measure them against the current version of WCAG, which is now 2.2. The same wording is turning up in corporate tenders and supplier questionnaires.
Public Sector & Education
Councils, NHS trusts, universities and arm's-length bodies whose intranet and LMS content falls under the 2018 accessibility regulations.
Regulated Employers
Compliance training that every employee must complete, where one learner who can't finish it is a legal and HR problem.
Training Providers & Agencies
You sell courses into clients who now ask for a conformance report, and you need someone to produce it without rebuilding everything.
Every AA criterion, plus the SCORM-specific traps
Automated scanners catch some failures, but not focus order, announcements or whether a quiz can be finished. Those need a person with a keyboard, a screen reader and an understanding of how a SCORM player gets in the way.
WCAG 2.2 A and AA
- Text alternatives, captions, transcripts and audio description
- Colour contrast, text resizing to 200% and reflow at 320px
- Keyboard operability, visible focus, and focus not hidden behind headers or players
- Target size, single-pointer alternatives to dragging, consistent help, no redundant entry
- Headings, landmarks, names, roles and states for every control
- Timing adjustable, no flashing, motion that respects reduced-motion settings
SCORM and course-player specifics
- Player chrome: menu, progress, next/back and the LMS frame around it
- Focus management when slides, layers and quiz feedback change
- Completion and scoring reachable without a mouse or timing
- Drag-and-drop, hotspot and slider questions with equivalent alternatives
- Resume and bookmarking under keyboard-only navigation
- Authoring-tool defaults that fail: Storyline, Rise, Captivate and iSpring
Tested against the WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA success criteria (opens in a new tab) with NVDA and JAWS on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and TalkBack on Android.
Evidence your procurement team can file
I don't sell certificates or guarantee legal compliance. What holds up in a review is a criterion-by-criterion report with the evidence behind each result, including anything that still fails and why.
Audit report
Every A and AA criterion marked Supports, Partially Supports, Does Not Support or Not Applicable, with screenshots, the assistive technology used, and the screens affected.
Prioritised fix list
Failures ranked by how many learners they block, with the fix for each, so your developer or I can work through them in order.
Conformance report
An Accessibility Conformance Report on the VPAT 2.5 WCAG edition (or the EU edition for EN 301 549), ready to attach to a tender response or send to an accessibility officer.
Audit first, then fix only what fails
The audit is a fixed price. Remediation is quoted from the audit, so you never pay to fix things that already pass.
